Description

Harvested from Western Australia’s Jarrah (Eucalyptus Marginata) forests, this bioactive honey is recognised for its naturally high antimicrobial activity. Each batch is independently tested to verify its Total Activity (TA) rating, confirming measurable strength through phenol equivalence assays.

With a low glycemic index of 46, validated by the University of Sydney, Jarrah honey provides slower energy release compared to higher-GI products. Its elevated fructose-to-glucose ratio also reduces crystallisation, ensuring longer shelf stability.

Peer-reviewed research highlights Jarrah honey’s high antioxidant profile, driven by phenolic compounds and flavonoids. Dark amber in colour with a smooth texture and caramel-like flavour, it is a versatile choice for both wellness and retail applications.

We supply this honey in retail-ready jars designed for wholesale distribution, with options in premium glass or PET formats.

What is TA (Total Activity)
Total Activity (TA) measures the antibacterial strength of honey. It reflects the combined effect of both peroxide and non-peroxide antibacterial properties. A higher TA rating indicates stronger antibacterial activity, making the honey more effective for medicinal use.
TA vs UMF
TA (Total Activity) and UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) are both measures of honey's antibacterial properties. While TA measures the overall antibacterial activity, UMF specifically rates the non-peroxide activity unique to Manuka honey, primarily due to Methylglyoxal (MGO). Both ratings are useful, but UMF is specific to Manuka honey, whereas TA can apply to various honey types.
MGO Calculation
MGO (Methylglyoxal) is the compound responsible for the unique antibacterial properties of Manuka honey. The MGO rating represents the concentration of Methylglyoxal in milligrams per kilogram of honey. Higher MGO values indicate stronger antibacterial activity. For example, MGO 100+ contains 100 mg of Methylglyoxal per kg of honey.
